Training & development

Training & development is any task that assists in the acquisition of new or improved knowledge or abilities. It is a very important & influencing matter in HRM, as it is directly affected the existence & progress of an organization. The human resource of an organization plays a vital role & should be capable to deal with a complex & competitive business world. A good training & development program should be a combination of knowledge, career growth & goal establishing (Jehanzeb & Bashir, 2013). Training leads to develop employees & their performance heavily depends on that. The training & development policy & strategy of an organization may differ from another based on the requirement.

Employee training

Training is spotlighted on upgrading the skills, which are required for achieving organizational goals (Elnaga & Imran, 2013). According to (Badhu & Saxena, 1999), underlined that the importance of a well-defined training policy and also a training handbook in an organization. Further, emphasized that training should be viewed as a continuous process. Training to renovate the employees with the newest technological advancements (Sheeba & Christopher, 2020). Companies should give training, which is related to the needs of the job, to build a productive requires employee for the organization (Jehanzeb & Bashir, 2013).

Employee development

Even though the idea of development can be noticed as training, obtaining new capabilities & skills for personal extension (Jehanzeb & Bashir, 2013).  It is a long-term strategic process & a broader area.

Conclusion

Training & development is a continual process, which guides both employees & the organization to achieve goals. Training is one of the key drivers of employee development. An organization should have good training & development policies & strategies to manage human resources successfully in the organization.

These improvements will positively affect the productivity of workers, which can increase the profits and efficiency of an organization. Some of the things employees may learn through training include work ethics, human relations and safety.
